Hello. I am 42 years old and female – my chronic headaches started 12 years ago not long after I moved to Phoenix, AZ. Since then I have suffered with almost constant daily headache pain and have become something of a medical anomaly. Not one doctor in the dozens I’ve seen has ever been able to find a way to relieve my headaches.
When I first sought help for my headaches back in 2000, I went to an Ear, Nose and Throat specialist because I was convinced it was sinus related. My “headache” has always been mainly in my face, forehead, temples, bridge of my nose and eyes. All of that was and still is so sensitive and painful to touch. I felt and still feel as though my sinuses are swollen. The ENT doctor back them told me my sinuses were fine and that there’s no such thing as a sinus headache without a sinus infection. That diagnosis is what launched my decade-long search for relief. After ten years I just gave up and faced the fact that I would be living in pain for the rest of my life.
Most recently, I have been in near-constant excruciating pain for the past 4 weeks straight. Nothing works on my pain…not ibuprofen, aspirin, aleve, migraine meds, muscle relaxers…nothing. I’m at the end of my rope. Every day I wake up in pain, live through the day in pain, and go to bed with pain. This past month has been monsoon season in Phoenix so I’m beginning to wonder if the weather is contributing to or causing my headaches.
I’m hoping to find someone who has a similar story with a happy ending! 😀 Thanks for listening.
